Muhammad Usama Anjum 249bf97331 arm64: mte: Skip TFSR_EL1 checks and barriers in synchronous tag check mode
With KASAN_HW_TAGS (MTE) in synchronous mode, tag check faults are
reported as immediate Data Abort exceptions. The TFSR_EL1.TF1 bit is
never set since faults never go through the asynchronous path.
Therefore, reading TFSR_EL1 and executing data and instruction barriers
on kernel entry, exit, context switch and suspend is unnecessary
overhead.

As with the check_mte_async_tcf and clear_mte_async_tcf paths for
TFSRE0_EL1, extend the same optimisation to kernel entry/exit, context
switch and suspend.

All mte kselftests pass. The kunit before and after the patch show same
results.

A selection of test_vmalloc benchmarks running on a arm64 machine.
v6.19 is the baseline. (>0 is faster, <0 is slower, (R)/(I) =
statistically significant Regression/Improvement). Based on significance
and ignoring the noise, the benchmarks improved.

* 77 result classes were considered, with 9 wins, 0 losses and 68 ties

Muhammad Usama Anjum 32be3ca4cf wifi: ath11k: HAL SRNG: don't deinitialize and re-initialize again
Don't deinitialize and reinitialize the HAL helpers. The dma memory is
deallocated and there is high possibility that we'll not be able to get
the same memory allocated from dma when there is high memory pressure.

Tested-on: WCN6855 hw2.0 PCI WLAN.HSP.1.1-03926.13-QCAHSPSWPL_V2_SILICONZ_CE-2.52297.6

Muhammad Usama Anjum 3d5022a0f8 selftests/mm: add -Wunreachable-code and fix warnings
Patch series "selftests/mm: Add -Wunreachable-code and fix warnings".

Add -Wunreachable-code to selftests and remove dead code from generated
warnings.

This patch (of 2):

Enable -Wunreachable-code flag to catch dead code and fix them.

1. Remove the dead code and write a comment instead:
hmm-tests.c:2033:3: warning: code will never be executed
[-Wunreachable-code]
                perror("Should not reach this\n");
                ^~~~~~

2. ksft_exit_fail_msg() calls exit(). So cleanup isn't done. Replace it
   with ksft_print_msg().
split_huge_page_test.c:301:3: warning: code will never be executed
[-Wunreachable-code]
                goto cleanup;
                ^~~~~~~~~~~~

3. Remove duplicate inline.
pkey_sighandler_tests.c:44:15: warning: duplicate 'inline' declaration
specifier [-Wduplicate-decl-specifier]
static inline __always_inline

Replace GFP_ATOMIC with GFP_KERNEL for dma_alloc_coherent() calls. This
change improves memory allocation reliability during firmware loading,

of using GFP_KERNEL, reclaim can happen which can reduce the probability

Muhammad Usama Anjum cd2e7bae92 wifi: ath11k: Fix QMI memory reuse logic
Firmware requests 2 segments at first. The first segment is of 6799360
whose allocation fails due to dma remapping not available. The success
is returned to firmware. Then firmware asks for 22 smaller segments
instead of 2 big ones. Those get allocated successfully. At suspend/
hibernation time, these segments aren't freed as they will be reused
by firmware after resuming.

After resuming, the firmware asks for the 2 segments again with the
first segment of 6799360 size. Since chunk->vaddr is not NULL, the
type and size are compared with the previous type and size to know if
it can be reused or not. Unfortunately, it is detected that it cannot
be reused and this first smaller segment is freed. Then we continue to
allocate 6799360 size memory which fails and ath11k_qmi_free_target_mem_chunk()
is called which frees the second smaller segment as well. Later success
is returned to firmware which asks for 22 smaller segments again. But
as we had freed 2 segments already, we'll allocate the first 2 new
smaller segments again and reuse the remaining 20. Hence 20 small
segments are being reused instead of 22.

Add skip logic when vaddr is set, but size/type don't match. Use the
same skip and success logic as used when dma_alloc_coherent() fails.
By skipping, the possibility of resume failure due to kernel failing to
allocate memory for QMI can be avoided.

kernel: ath11k_pci 0000:03:00.0: failed to allocate dma memory for qmi (524288 B type 1)

Muhammad Usama Anjum 2f3577d16c selftests/mm: thp_settings: remove const from return type
Patch series "selftest/mm: Remove warnings found by adding compiler flags".

Recently, I reviewed a patch on the mm/kselftest mailing list about a test
which had obvious type mismatch fix in it. It was strange why that wasn't
caught during development and when patch was accepted. This led me to
discover that those extra compiler options to catch these warnings aren't
being used. When I added them, I found tens of warnings in just mm suite.

In this series, I'm fixing those warnings in a few files. More fixes will
be sent later.

This patch (of 4):

The __NR_mmap isn't found on armhf. The mmap() is commonly available

Add a version of ksft_exit_fail_msg() which prints the errno and its
string form with ease. There is no benefit of exit message without
errno. Whenever some error occurs, instead of printing errno manually,
this function would be very helpful. In the next TAP ports or new tests,
this function will be used instead of ksft_exit_fail_msg() as it prints
errno.

The save/restore of nr_hugepages was added to the test itself by using the
atexit() functionality. But it is broken as parent exits after creating
child. Hence calling the atexit() function early. That's not it. The
child exits after creating its child and so on.

The parent cannot wait to get the termination status for its children as
it'll keep on holding the resources until the new pkey allocation fails.
It is impossible to wait for exits of all the grand and great grand
children. Hence the restoring of nr_hugepages value from parent is wrong.

Let's save/restore the nr_hugepages settings in the launch script
instead of doing it in the test.

Muhammad Usama Anjum f2943f3f08 selftests/mm: hugetlb_reparenting_test: do not unmount
Patch series "selftests/mm: Improve run_vmtests.sh", v3.

In this series, I'm trying to add 3 missing tests to vm_runtests.sh which
is used to run all the tests in mm suite. These tests weren't running by
CIs. While enabling them and through review feedback, I've fixed some
problems in tests as well. I've found more flakiness in more tests which
I'll be fixing with future patches.

hugetlb-read-hwpoison test is being added where it can only run with newly
added "-d" (destructive) flag only. Not sure why it is failing again. So
once it become stable, we can think of moving it to default set of tests
if it doesn't have any side-effect to them.

This patch (of 5):

Do not unmount the cgroup if it wasn't mounted by the test. The earlier
patch had fixed this for charge_reserved_hugetlb, but not for this test.
I'm adding fixes tag to that earlier patch.

Muhammad Usama Anjum 0aac13add2 selftests: secretmem: floor the memory size to the multiple of page_size
The "locked-in-memory size" limit per process can be non-multiple of
page_size. The mmap() fails if we try to allocate locked-in-memory with
same size as the allowed limit if it isn't multiple of the page_size
because mmap() rounds off the memory size to be allocated to next multiple
of page_size.

Fix this by flooring the length to be allocated with mmap() to the
previous multiple of the page_size.

This was getting triggered on KernelCI regularly because of different
ulimit settings which wasn't multiple of the page_size. Find logs

Muhammad Usama Anjum 52526ca7fd fs/proc/task_mmu: implement IOCTL to get and optionally clear info about PTEs
The PAGEMAP_SCAN IOCTL on the pagemap file can be used to get or optionally
clear the info about page table entries. The following operations are
supported in this IOCTL:
- Scan the address range and get the memory ranges matching the provided
criteria. This is performed when the output buffer is specified.
- Write-protect the pages. The PM_SCAN_WP_MATCHING is used to write-protect
the pages of interest. The PM_SCAN_CHECK_WPASYNC aborts the operation if
non-Async Write Protected pages are found. The ``PM_SCAN_WP_MATCHING``
can be used with or without PM_SCAN_CHECK_WPASYNC.
- Both of those operations can be combined into one atomic operation where
we can get and write protect the pages as well.

Following flags about pages are currently supported:
- PAGE_IS_WPALLOWED - Page has async-write-protection enabled
- PAGE_IS_WRITTEN - Page has been written to from the time it was write protected
- PAGE_IS_FILE - Page is file backed
- PAGE_IS_PRESENT - Page is present in the memory
- PAGE_IS_SWAPPED - Page is in swapped
- PAGE_IS_PFNZERO - Page has zero PFN
- PAGE_IS_HUGE - Page is THP or Hugetlb backed

This IOCTL can be extended to get information about more PTE bits. The
entire address range passed by user [start, end) is scanned until either
the user provided buffer is full or max_pages have been found.

Muhammad Usama Anjum dd976a97d1 tty/sysrq: replace smp_processor_id() with get_cpu()
The smp_processor_id() shouldn't be called from preemptible code.
Instead use get_cpu() and put_cpu() which disables preemption in
addition to getting the processor id. Enable preemption back after
calling schedule_work() to make sure that the work gets scheduled on all
cores other than the current core. We want to avoid a scenario where
current core's stack trace is printed multiple times and one core's
stack trace isn't printed because of scheduling of current task.

This fixes the following bug:

It is wrong to include unprocessed user header files directly. They are
processed to "<source_tree>/usr/include" by running "make headers" and
they are included in selftests by kselftest makefiles automatically with
help of KHDR_INCLUDES variable. These headers should always bulilt first
before building kselftests.

Muhammad Usama Anjum a1b92a3f14 mm/userfaultfd: support WP on multiple VMAs
mwriteprotect_range() errors out if [start, end) doesn't fall in one VMA.
We are facing a use case where multiple VMAs are present in one range of
interest. For example, the following pseudocode reproduces the error
which we are trying to fix:

- Allocate memory of size 16 pages with PROT_NONE with mmap
- Register userfaultfd
- Change protection of the first half (1 to 8 pages) of memory to
PROT_READ | PROT_WRITE. This breaks the memory area in two VMAs.
- Now UFFDIO_WRITEPROTECT_MODE_WP on the whole memory of 16 pages errors
  out.

This is a simple use case where user may or may not know if the memory
area has been divided into multiple VMAs.

We need an implementation which doesn't disrupt the already present users.
So keeping things simple, stop going over all the VMAs if any one of the
VMA hasn't been registered in WP mode. While at it, remove the un-needed
error check as well.
