Bibo Mao af706d0e27 MIPS: Use arch specific syscall name match function
[ Upstream commit 756276ce78d5624dc814f9d99f7d16c8fd51076e ]

On MIPS system, most of the syscall function name begin with prefix
sys_. Some syscalls are special such as clone/fork, function name of
these begin with __sys_. Since scratch registers need be saved in
stack when these system calls happens.

With ftrace system call method, system call functions are declared with
SYSCALL_DEFINEx, metadata of the system call symbol name begins with
sys_. Here mips specific function arch_syscall_match_sym_name is used to
compare function name between sys_call_table[] and metadata of syscall
symbol.

Thorsten Blum eaa30e1d0e MIPS: Fix MAX_REG_OFFSET
[ Upstream commit c44572e0cc13c9afff83fd333135a0aa9b27ba26 ]

Fix MAX_REG_OFFSET to point to the last register in 'pt_regs' and not to
the marker itself, which could allow regs_get_register() to return an

Gregory CLEMENT eea7d57c4a MIPS: cm: Detect CM quirks from device tree
[ Upstream commit e27fbe16af5cfc40639de4ced67d1a866a1953e9 ]

Some information that should be retrieved at runtime for the Coherence
Manager can be either absent or wrong. This patch allows checking if
some of this information is available from the device tree and updates
the internal variable accordingly.

For now, only the compatible string associated with the broken HCI is
being retrieved.

Christoph Hellwig c2707bda56 UPSTREAM: asm-generic: provide generic page_to_phys and phys_to_page implementations
page_to_phys is duplicated by all architectures, and from some strange
reason placed in <asm/io.h> where it doesn't fit at all.

phys_to_page is only provided by a few architectures despite having a lot
of open coded users.

Provide generic versions in <asm-generic/memory_model.h> to make these
helpers more easily usable.

Note with this patch powerpc loses the CONFIG_DEBUG_VIRTUAL pfn_valid
check. It will be added back in a generic version later.

Ryan Roberts a684bad77e mm: hugetlb: Add huge page size param to huge_ptep_get_and_clear()
commit 02410ac72ac3707936c07ede66e94360d0d65319 upstream.

In order to fix a bug, arm64 needs to be told the size of the huge page
for which the huge_pte is being cleared in huge_ptep_get_and_clear().
Provide for this by adding an `unsigned long sz` parameter to the
function. This follows the same pattern as huge_pte_clear() and
set_huge_pte_at().

This commit makes the required interface modifications to the core mm as
well as all arches that implement this function (arm64, loongarch, mips,
parisc, powerpc, riscv, s390, sparc). The actual arm64 bug will be fixed
in a separate commit.

Jonas Gorski 2a375beb4c mips: asm: fix warning when disabling MIPS_FP_SUPPORT
[ Upstream commit da09935975c8f8c90d6f57be2422dee5557206cd ]

When MIPS_FP_SUPPORT is disabled, __sanitize_fcr31() is defined as
nothing, which triggers a gcc warning:

    In file included from kernel/sched/core.c:79:
    kernel/sched/core.c: In function 'context_switch':

Fix this by providing an empty body for __sanitize_fcr31() like one is
defined for __mips_mt_fpaff_switch_to().

Linus Torvalds 3efc57369a Merge tag 'for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/virt/kvm/kvm
Pull x86 kvm updates from Paolo Bonzini:
 "x86:

   - KVM currently invalidates the entirety of the page tables, not just
those for the memslot being touched, when a memslot is moved or
     deleted.

This does not traditionally have particularly noticeable overhead,
but Intel's TDX will require the guest to re-accept private pages
if they are dropped from the secure EPT, which is a non starter.

Actually, the only reason why this is not already being done is a
bug which was never fully investigated and caused VM instability
with assigned GeForce GPUs, so allow userspace to opt into the new
     behavior.

   - Advertise AVX10.1 to userspace (effectively prep work for the
"real" AVX10 functionality that is on the horizon)

   - Rework common MSR handling code to suppress errors on userspace
     accesses to unsupported-but-advertised MSRs

This will allow removing (almost?) all of KVM's exemptions for
userspace access to MSRs that shouldn't exist based on the vCPU
model (the actual cleanup is non-trivial future work)

   - Rework KVM's handling of x2APIC ICR, again, because AMD (x2AVIC)
splits the 64-bit value into the legacy ICR and ICR2 storage,
whereas Intel (APICv) stores the entire 64-bit value at the ICR
     offset

   - Fix a bug where KVM would fail to exit to userspace if one was
triggered by a fastpath exit handler

   - Add fastpath handling of HLT VM-Exit to expedite re-entering the
guest when there's already a pending wake event at the time of the
     exit

   - Fix a WARN caused by RSM entering a nested guest from SMM with
invalid guest state, by forcing the vCPU out of guest mode prior to
signalling SHUTDOWN (the SHUTDOWN hits the VM altogether, not the
     nested guest)

   - Overhaul the "unprotect and retry" logic to more precisely identify
cases where retrying is actually helpful, and to harden all retry
paths against putting the guest into an infinite retry loop

   - Add support for yielding, e.g. to honor NEED_RESCHED, when zapping
     rmaps in the shadow MMU

   - Refactor pieces of the shadow MMU related to aging SPTEs in
prepartion for adding multi generation LRU support in KVM

   - Don't stuff the RSB after VM-Exit when RETPOLINE=y and AutoIBRS is
enabled, i.e. when the CPU has already flushed the RSB

   - Trace the per-CPU host save area as a VMCB pointer to improve
readability and cleanup the retrieval of the SEV-ES host save area

   - Remove unnecessary accounting of temporary nested VMCB related
     allocations

   - Set FINAL/PAGE in the page fault error code for EPT violations if
and only if the GVA is valid. If the GVA is NOT valid, there is no
guest-side page table walk and so stuffing paging related metadata
     is nonsensical

   - Fix a bug where KVM would incorrectly synthesize a nested VM-Exit
instead of emulating posted interrupt delivery to L2

   - Add a lockdep assertion to detect unsafe accesses of vmcs12
     structures

   - Harden eVMCS loading against an impossible NULL pointer deref
     (really truly should be impossible)

   - Minor SGX fix and a cleanup

   - Misc cleanups

  Generic:

   - Register KVM's cpuhp and syscore callbacks when enabling
virtualization in hardware, as the sole purpose of said callbacks
is to disable and re-enable virtualization as needed

   - Enable virtualization when KVM is loaded, not right before the
     first VM is created

Together with the previous change, this simplifies a lot the logic
of the callbacks, because their very existence implies
     virtualization is enabled

   - Fix a bug that results in KVM prematurely exiting to userspace for
coalesced MMIO/PIO in many cases, clean up the related code, and
     add a testcase

   - Fix a bug in kvm_clear_guest() where it would trigger a buffer
overflow _if_ the gpa+len crosses a page boundary, which thankfully
is guaranteed to not happen in the current code base. Add WARNs in
more helpers that read/write guest memory to detect similar bugs

  Selftests:

   - Fix a goof that caused some Hyper-V tests to be skipped when run on
bare metal, i.e. NOT in a VM

   - Add a regression test for KVM's handling of SHUTDOWN for an SEV-ES
     guest

   - Explicitly include one-off assets in .gitignore. Past Sean was
completely wrong about not being able to detect missing .gitignore
     entries

   - Verify userspace single-stepping works when KVM happens to handle a
     VM-Exit in its fastpath

   - Misc cleanups"

Mike Rapoport (Microsoft) 46bcce5031 arch, mm: move definition of node_data to generic code
Every architecture that supports NUMA defines node_data in the same way:

	struct pglist_data *node_data[MAX_NUMNODES];

No reason to keep multiple copies of this definition and its forward
declarations, especially when such forward declaration is the only thing
in include/asm/mmzone.h for many architectures.

Add definition and declaration of node_data to generic code and drop
architecture-specific versions.

Mike Rapoport (Microsoft) bc5c8ad3cb MIPS: sgi-ip27: make NODE_DATA() the same as on all other architectures
sgi-ip27 is the only system that defines NODE_DATA() differently than the
rest of NUMA machines.

Add node_data array of struct pglist pointers that will point to
__node_data[node]->pglist and redefine NODE_DATA() to use node_data array.

This will allow pulling declaration of node_data to the generic mm code in

Gregory CLEMENT a263e5f309 MIPS: SMP-CPS: Fix address for GCR_ACCESS register for CM3 and later
When the CM block migrated from CM2.5 to CM3.0, the address offset for
the Global CSR Access Privilege register was modified. We saw this in
the "MIPS64 I6500 Multiprocessing System Programmer's Guide," it is
stated that "the Global CSR Access Privilege register is located at
offset 0x0120" in section 5.4. It is at least the same for I6400.

This fix allows to use the VP cores in SMP mode if the reset values
were modified by the bootloader.

Based on the work of Vladimir Kondratiev
<vladimir.kondratiev@mobileye.com> and the feedback from Jiaxun Yang
<jiaxun.yang@flygoat.com>.

Linus Torvalds fbc90c042c Merge tag 'mm-stable-2024-07-21-14-50' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/akpm/mm
Pull MM updates from Andrew Morton:

 - In the series "mm: Avoid possible overflows in dirty throttling" Jan
Kara addresses a couple of issues in the writeback throttling code.
These fixes are also targetted at -stable kernels.

 - Ryusuke Konishi's series "nilfs2: fix potential issues related to
reserved inodes" does that. This should actually be in the
mm-nonmm-stable tree, along with the many other nilfs2 patches. My
   bad.

 - More folio conversions from Kefeng Wang in the series "mm: convert to
   folio_alloc_mpol()"

 - Kemeng Shi has sent some cleanups to the writeback code in the series
"Add helper functions to remove repeated code and improve readability
   of cgroup writeback"

 - Kairui Song has made the swap code a little smaller and a little
faster in the series "mm/swap: clean up and optimize swap cache
   index".

 - In the series "mm/memory: cleanly support zeropage in
   vm_insert_page*(), vm_map_pages*() and vmf_insert_mixed()" David
Hildenbrand has reworked the rather sketchy handling of the use of
the zeropage in MAP_SHARED mappings. I don't see any runtime effects
   here - more a cleanup/understandability/maintainablity thing.

 - Dev Jain has improved selftests/mm/va_high_addr_switch.c's handling
of higher addresses, for aarch64. The (poorly named) series is
   "Restructure va_high_addr_switch".

 - The core TLB handling code gets some cleanups and possible slight
optimizations in Bang Li's series "Add update_mmu_tlb_range() to
   simplify code".

 - Jane Chu has improved the handling of our
   fake-an-unrecoverable-memory-error testing feature MADV_HWPOISON in
the series "Enhance soft hwpoison handling and injection".

 - Jeff Johnson has sent a billion patches everywhere to add
MODULE_DESCRIPTION() to everything. Some landed in this pull.

 - In the series "mm: cleanup MIGRATE_SYNC_NO_COPY mode", Kefeng Wang
has simplified migration's use of hardware-offload memory copying.

 - Yosry Ahmed performs more folio API conversions in his series "mm:
   zswap: trivial folio conversions".

 - In the series "large folios swap-in: handle refault cases first",
Chuanhua Han inches us forward in the handling of large pages in the
swap code. This is a cleanup and optimization, working toward the end
objective of full support of large folio swapin/out.

 - In the series "mm,swap: cleanup VMA based swap readahead window
calculation", Huang Ying has contributed some cleanups and a possible
fixlet to his VMA based swap readahead code.

 - In the series "add mTHP support for anonymous shmem" Baolin Wang has
taught anonymous shmem mappings to use multisize THP. By default this
is a no-op - users must opt in vis sysfs controls. Dramatic
improvements in pagefault latency are realized.

 - David Hildenbrand has some cleanups to our remaining use of
page_mapcount() in the series "fs/proc: move page_mapcount() to
   fs/proc/internal.h".

 - David also has some highmem accounting cleanups in the series
"mm/highmem: don't track highmem pages manually".

 - Build-time fixes and cleanups from John Hubbard in the series
"cleanups, fixes, and progress towards avoiding "make headers"".

 - Cleanups and consolidation of the core pagemap handling from Barry
Song in the series "mm: introduce pmd|pte_needs_soft_dirty_wp helpers
   and utilize them".

 - Lance Yang's series "Reclaim lazyfree THP without splitting" has
reduced the latency of the reclaim of pmd-mapped THPs under fairly
common circumstances. A 10x speedup is seen in a microbenchmark.

It does this by punting to aother CPU but I guess that's a win unless
   all CPUs are pegged.

 - hugetlb_cgroup cleanups from Xiu Jianfeng in the series
   "mm/hugetlb_cgroup: rework on cftypes".

 - Miaohe Lin's series "Some cleanups for memory-failure" does just that
   thing.

 - Someone other than SeongJae has developed a DAMON feature in Honggyu
Kim's series "DAMON based tiered memory management for CXL memory".
This adds DAMON features which may be used to help determine the
efficiency of our placement of CXL/PCIe attached DRAM.

 - DAMON user API centralization and simplificatio work in SeongJae
Park's series "mm/damon: introduce DAMON parameters online commit
   function".

 - In the series "mm: page_type, zsmalloc and page_mapcount_reset()"
David Hildenbrand does some maintenance work on zsmalloc - partially
modernizing its use of pageframe fields.

 - Kefeng Wang provides more folio conversions in the series "mm: remove
   page_maybe_dma_pinned() and page_mkclean()".

 - More cleanup from David Hildenbrand, this time in the series
"mm/memory_hotplug: use PageOffline() instead of PageReserved() for
!ZONE_DEVICE". It "enlightens memory hotplug more about PageOffline()
pages" and permits the removal of some virtio-mem hacks.

 - Barry Song's series "mm: clarify folio_add_new_anon_rmap() and
__folio_add_anon_rmap()" is a cleanup to the anon folio handling in
preparation for mTHP (multisize THP) swapin.

 - Kefeng Wang's series "mm: improve clear and copy user folio"
implements more folio conversions, this time in the area of large
   folio userspace copying.

 - The series "Docs/mm/damon/maintaier-profile: document a mailing tool
and community meetup series" tells people how to get better involved
with other DAMON developers. From SeongJae Park.

 - A large series ("kmsan: Enable on s390") from Ilya Leoshkevich does
   that.

 - David Hildenbrand sends along more cleanups, this time against the
migration code. The series is "mm/migrate: move NUMA hinting fault
folio isolation + checks under PTL".

 - Jan Kara has found quite a lot of strangenesses and minor errors in
the readahead code. He addresses this in the series "mm: Fix various
   readahead quirks".

 - SeongJae Park's series "selftests/damon: test DAMOS tried regions and
{min,max}_nr_regions" adds features and addresses errors in DAMON's
   self testing code.

 - Gavin Shan has found a userspace-triggerable WARN in the pagecache
code. The series "mm/filemap: Limit page cache size to that supported
by xarray" addresses this. The series is marked cc:stable.

 - Chengming Zhou's series "mm/ksm: cmp_and_merge_page() optimizations
and cleanup" cleans up and slightly optimizes KSM.

 - Roman Gushchin has separated the memcg-v1 and memcg-v2 code - lots of
code motion. The series (which also makes the memcg-v1 code
Kconfigurable) are "mm: memcg: separate legacy cgroup v1 code and put
under config option" and "mm: memcg: put cgroup v1-specific memcg
   data under CONFIG_MEMCG_V1"

 - Dan Schatzberg's series "Add swappiness argument to memory.reclaim"
adds an additional feature to this cgroup-v2 control file.

 - The series "Userspace controls soft-offline pages" from Jiaqi Yan
permits userspace to stop the kernel's automatic treatment of
excessive correctable memory errors. In order to permit userspace to
   monitor and handle this situation.

 - Kefeng Wang's series "mm: migrate: support poison recover from
migrate folio" teaches the kernel to appropriately handle migration
from poisoned source folios rather than simply panicing.

 - SeongJae Park's series "Docs/damon: minor fixups and improvements"
   does those things.

 - In the series "mm/zsmalloc: change back to per-size_class lock"
Chengming Zhou improves zsmalloc's scalability and memory
   utilization.

 - Vivek Kasireddy's series "mm/gup: Introduce memfd_pin_folios() for
pinning memfd folios" makes the GUP code use FOLL_PIN rather than
bare refcount increments. So these paes can first be moved aside if
they reside in the movable zone or a CMA block.

 - Andrii Nakryiko has added a binary ioctl()-based API to
/proc/pid/maps for much faster reading of vma information. The series
   is "query VMAs from /proc/<pid>/maps".

 - In the series "mm: introduce per-order mTHP split counters" Lance
Yang improves the kernel's presentation of developer information
   related to multisize THP splitting.

 - Michael Ellerman has developed the series "Reimplement huge pages
without hugepd on powerpc (8xx, e500, book3s/64)". This permits
userspace to use all available huge page sizes.

 - In the series "revert unconditional slab and page allocator fault
injection calls" Vlastimil Babka removes a performance-affecting and
not very useful feature from slab fault injection.

type will be needed to handle fetching the certificate from
     userspace.

     An attempt to define a new KVM_EXIT_COCO / KVM_EXIT_COCO_REQ_CERTS
exit type to handle this was introduced in v1 of this patchset, but
is still being discussed by community, so for now this patchset
only implements a stub version of SNP Extended Guest Requests that
     does not provide certificate data

  x86 - Intel:

   - Remove an unnecessary EPT TLB flush when enabling hardware

   - Fix a series of bugs that cause KVM to fail to detect nested
pending posted interrupts as valid wake eents for a vCPU executing
HLT in L2 (with HLT-exiting disable by L1)

   - KVM: x86: Suppress MMIO that is triggered during task switch
     emulation

Explicitly suppress userspace emulated MMIO exits that are
triggered when emulating a task switch as KVM doesn't support
userspace MMIO during complex (multi-step) emulation

Silently ignoring the exit request can result in the
WARN_ON_ONCE(vcpu->mmio_needed) firing if KVM exits to userspace
for some other reason prior to purging mmio_needed

See commit 0dc902267c ("KVM: x86: Suppress pending MMIO write
exits if emulator detects exception") for more details on KVM's
limitations with respect to emulated MMIO during complex emulator
     flows

  Generic:

   - Rename the AS_UNMOVABLE flag that was introduced for KVM to
AS_INACCESSIBLE, because the special casing needed by these pages
is not due to just unmovability (and in fact they are only
unmovable because the CPU cannot access them)

   - New ioctl to populate the KVM page tables in advance, which is
useful to mitigate KVM page faults during guest boot or after live
migration. The code will also be used by TDX, but (probably) not
     through the ioctl

   - Enable halt poll shrinking by default, as Intel found it to be a
     clear win

   - Setup empty IRQ routing when creating a VM to avoid having to
synchronize SRCU when creating a split IRQCHIP on x86

   - Rework the sched_in/out() paths to replace kvm_arch_sched_in() with
a flag that arch code can use for hooking both sched_in() and
     sched_out()

   - Take the vCPU @id as an "unsigned long" instead of "u32" to avoid
truncating a bogus value from userspace, e.g. to help userspace
     detect bugs

   - Mark a vCPU as preempted if and only if it's scheduled out while in
the KVM_RUN loop, e.g. to avoid marking it preempted and thus
writing guest memory when retrieving guest state during live
     migration blackout

  Selftests:

   - Remove dead code in the memslot modification stress test

   - Treat "branch instructions retired" as supported on all AMD Family
     17h+ CPUs

   - Print the guest pseudo-RNG seed only when it changes, to avoid
spamming the log for tests that create lots of VMs

   - Make the PMU counters test less flaky when counting LLC cache
misses by doing CLFLUSH{OPT} in every loop iteration"

Jiaxun Yang 59649de96f MIPS: Implement ieee754 NAN2008 emulation mode
Implement ieee754 NAN2008 emulation mode.

When this mode is enabled, kernel will accept ELF file
compiled for both NaN 2008 and NaN legacy, but if hardware
does not have capability to match ELF's NaN mode, __own_fpu
will fail for corresponding thread and fpuemu will then kick
in.

This mode trade performance for correctness, while maintaining
support for both NaN mode regardless of hardware capability.
It is useful for multilib installation that have both types
of binary exist in system.

Arnd Bergmann 505d66d1ab clone3: drop __ARCH_WANT_SYS_CLONE3 macro
When clone3() was introduced, it was not obvious how each architecture
deals with setting up the stack and keeping the register contents in
a fork()-like system call, so this was left for the architecture
maintainers to implement, with __ARCH_WANT_SYS_CLONE3 defined by those
that already implement it.

Five years later, we still have a few architectures left that are missing
clone3(), and the macro keeps getting in the way as it's fundamentally
different from all the other __ARCH_WANT_SYS_* macros that are meant
to provide backwards-compatibility with applications using older
syscalls that are no longer provided by default.

Address this by reversing the polarity of the macro, adding an
__ARCH_BROKEN_SYS_CLONE3 macro to all architectures that don't
already provide the syscall, and remove __ARCH_WANT_SYS_CLONE3
from all the other ones.

Paul Burton 680e7863de MIPS: GIC: Generate redirect block accessors
With CM 3.5 the "core-other" register block evolves into the "redirect"
register block, which is capable of accessing not only the core local
registers of other cores but also the shared/global registers of other
clusters.

This patch generates accessor functions for shared/global registers
accessed via the redirect block, with "redir_" inserted after "gic_" in
their names. For example the accessor function:

  read_gic_config()

...accesses the GIC_CONFIG register of the GIC in the local cluster.
With this patch a new function:

  read_gic_redir_config()

...is added which accesses the GIC_CONFIG register of the GIC in
whichever cluster the GCR_CL_REDIRECT register is configured to access.

This mirrors the similar redirect block accessors already provided for
the CM & CPC.

Paul Burton 36675ac2a7 MIPS: CPS: Add a couple of multi-cluster utility functions
This patch introduces a couple of utility functions which help later
patches with introducing support for multi-cluster systems.

 - mips_cps_multicluster_cpus() allows its caller to determine whether
the system includes CPUs spread across multiple clusters. This is
useful because in some cases behaviour can be more optimal taking
this knowledge into account. The means by which we check this is
dependent upon the way we probe CPUs & assign their numbers, so
keeping this knowledge confined here in arch/mips/ seems appropriate.

 - mips_cps_first_online_in_cluster() allows its caller to determine
whether it is running upon the first CPU online within its cluster.
This information is useful in cases where some cluster-wide
configuration may need to occur, but should not be repeated if
another CPU in the cluster is already online. Similarly to the above
this is determined based upon knowledge of CPU numbering so it makes
sense to keep that knowledge in arch/mips/. The function is defined
in mips-cm.c rather than in asm/mips-cps.h in order to allow us to
use asm/cpu-info.h & linux/smp.h without encountering an include
   nightmare.

Bang Li 23b1b44e6c mm: add update_mmu_tlb_range()
Patch series "Add update_mmu_tlb_range() to simplify code", v4.

This series of commits mainly adds the update_mmu_tlb_range() to batch
update tlb in an address range and implement update_mmu_tlb() using
update_mmu_tlb_range().

After commit 19eaf44954 ("mm: thp: support allocation of anonymous
multi-size THP"), We may need to batch update tlb of a certain address
range by calling update_mmu_tlb() in a loop. Using the
update_mmu_tlb_range(), we can simplify the code and possibly reduce the
execution of some unnecessary code in some architectures.

This patch (of 3):

Add update_mmu_tlb_range(), we can batch update tlb of an address range.

Thomas Zimmermann 2fd001cd36 arch: Rename fbdev header and source files
The per-architecture fbdev code has no dependencies on fbdev and can
be used for any video-related subsystem. Rename the files to 'video'.
Use video-sti.c on parisc as the source file depends on CONFIG_STI_CORE.

On arc, arm, arm64, sh, and um the asm header file is an empty wrapper
around the file in asm-generic. Let Kbuild generate the file. The build
system does this automatically. Only um needs to generate video.h
explicitly, so that it overrides the host architecture's header. The
latter would otherwise interfere with the build.

Further update all includes statements, include guards, and Makefiles.
Also update a few strings and comments to refer to video instead of
fbdev.

v3:
- arc, arm, arm64, sh: generate asm header via build system (Sam,
Helge, Arnd)
- um: rename fb.h to video.h
- fix typo in commit message (Sam)
