Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@google.com>
To support the upcoming non-scatterlist mapping helpers, we need to go
back to have them called outside of the DMA API. Thus move them out of
dma-map-ops.h, which is only for DMA API implementations to pci-p2pdma.h,
which is for driver use.
Note that the core helper is still not exported as the mapping is
expected to be done only by very highlevel subsystem code at least for
now.

The current scheme with a single helper to determine the P2P status
and map a scatterlist segment force users to always use the map_sg
helper to DMA map, which we're trying to get away from because they
are very cache inefficient.
Refactor the code so that there is a single helper that checks the P2P
state for a page, including the result that it is not a P2P page to
simplify the callers, and a second one to perform the address translation
for a bus mapped P2P transfer that does not depend on the scatterlist
structure.

This patch introduces a new "guarantee" property for shared-dma-pool.
With the property, admin can create specific memory pool as
GCMA-based-CMA if they care about allocation success rate and latency
without reserving a dedicated memory area.

Some memory regions are already being tracked by previous patches. But
there are many memory allocations from memblock and frees to memblock
during the boot time.
This patch tracks the memblock size used for the common kernel. To to
this, tracking memblock size is disabled for some memory handling logics
like early param, device tree, and default cma size.
For precise kernel size, this patch counts not actually freed size to
buddy at boot time, and does not count freed size from ramdisk and init
section.
Additionally this patch does one important thing. This patch blocks
memblock_add_range of memblock_remove_range not to update memsize if
free pages were already released to the buddy allocator.
This is an example. The kernel size is newly added by this patch.

Some of memory regions can be reserved for a specific purpose. They are
usually defined through reserved-memory in device tree. If only size
without address is specified in device tree, the address of the region
will be determined at boot time.
We may find the address of the memory regions through booting log, but
it does not show all. And it could be hard to catch the very beginning
log. The memblock_dump_all shows all memblock status but it does not
show region name and its information is difficult to summarize.
This patch introduce a debugfs node, memblock/memsize, to see reserved
memory easily.
The first patch here will show the only reserved-memory in device tree
like following example. The next patches will show more information.
There is a case in which the reserved memory region name has @ staring
string at the end. That information is not actually needed. Let's remove
those string.

radix_lock() shouldn't be held while holding dma_hash_entry[idx].lock
otherwise, there's a possible deadlock scenario when
dma debug API is called holding rq_lock():
CPU0 CPU1 CPU2
dma_free_attrs()
check_unmap() add_dma_entry() __schedule() //out
(A) rq_lock()
get_hash_bucket()
(A) dma_entry_hash
check_sync()
(A) radix_lock() (W) dma_entry_hash
dma_entry_free()
(W) radix_lock()
// CPU2's one
(W) rq_lock()
CPU1 situation can happen when it extending radix tree and
it tries to wake up kswapd via wake_all_kswapd().
CPU2 situation can happen while perf_event_task_sched_out()
(i.e. dma sync operation is called while deleting perf_event using
etm and etr tmc which are Arm Coresight hwtracing driver backends).
To remove this possible situation, call dma_entry_free() after
put_hash_bucket() in check_unmap().

ZONE_DMA32 is enabled by default, yet it is not
needed for all devices, nor is it desirable to have if not needed. For
instance, if a partner in GKI 1.0 did not use ZONE_DMA32, memory can
be lower for ZONE_NORMAL relative to older targets, such that memory
would run out more quickly in ZONE_NORMAL leading kswapd to be invoked
unnecessarily.
Correspondingly, provide a means of making ZONE_DMA32 empty via the
kernel command line when it is compiled in via CONFIG_ZONE_DMA32.
P.S. The following two patches are squashed into this one,
1. bf96382 ("ANDROID: dma-direct: Make DMA32 disablement work for CONFIG_NUMA")
2. 135406c ("ANDROID: dma-direct: Document disable_dma32")
Additionally, for kernels 6.6+, ensure that arm64_dma_phys_limit
is set correctly by letting it be set to the highest possible
physical address when disable_dma32 is present on the kernel
command line.
This allows SWIOTLB allocations to be satisfied from anywhere within
the physical memory space, as opposed to restricting these
allocations to the lower 32-bit addressable physical memory space.
It is important that SWIOTLB allocations use the correct addressing
limits, as SWIOTLB buffers can now be allocated at runtime--not just
boot. Using the correct addressing limits can help increase the amount
of memory available for SWIOTLB allocations, increasing the likelihood
of success.
This also aligns the behavior of disable_dma32 to what would happen if
CONFIG_ZONE_DMA32 were disabled.

Commit b5c58b2fdc ("dma-mapping: direct calls for dma-iommu") switched
to use direct calls to dma-iommu, but missed the dma_vmap_noncontiguous,
dma_vunmap_noncontiguous and dma_mmap_noncontiguous behavior keyed off the
presence of the alloc_noncontiguous method.
Fix this by removing the now unused alloc_noncontiguous and
free_noncontiguous methods and moving the vmapping and mmaping of the
noncontiguous allocations into the iommu code, as it is the only provider
of actually noncontiguous allocations.

When the CMA allocation succeeds but isn't addressable, its buffer has
already been released and the page is set to NULL. So later when the

can be used to free that normal page rather than using
dma_free_contiguous that does extra checks that are not needed.

DMA ops are a helper for architectures and not for drivers to override
the DMA implementation.
Unfortunately driver authors keep ignoring this. Make the fact more
clear by renaming the symbol to ARCH_HAS_DMA_OPS and having the two drivers
overriding their dma_ops depend on that. These drivers should probably be
marked broken, but we can give them a bit of a grace period for that.

In dma_common_find_pages(), area->flags are compared directly with
VM_DMA_COHERENT. This works because VM_DMA_COHERENT is the only set
flag.
During development of a new feature (ASI [1]), a new VM flag is
introduced, and that flag can be injected into VM_DMA_COHERENT mappings
(among others). The presence of that flag caused
dma_common_find_pages() to return NULL for VM_DMA_COHERENT addresses,
leading to a lot of problems ending in crashing during boot. It took a
bit of time to figure this problem out.
It was a mistake to inject a VM flag to begin with, but it took a
significant amount of debugging to figure out the problem. Most users of
area->flags use bitmasking rather than equivalency to check for flags.
Update dma_common_find_pages() and dma_common_free_remap() to do the
same, which would have avoided the boot crashing. Instead, add a warning
in dma_common_find_pages() if any extra VM flags are set to catch such
problems more easily during development.
No functional change intended.

Currently the dma debugging code can end up indirectly calling printk
under the radix_lock. This happens when a radix tree node allocation
fails.
This is a problem because the printk code, when used together with
netconsole, can end up inside the dma debugging code while trying to
transmit a message over netcons.
This creates the possibility of either a circular deadlock on the same
CPU, with that CPU trying to grab the radix_lock twice, or an ABBA
deadlock between different CPUs, where one CPU grabs the console lock
first and then waits for the radix_lock, while the other CPU is holding
the radix_lock and is waiting for the console lock.
The trace captured by lockdep is of the ABBA variant.

dmam_free_coherent() frees a DMA allocation, which makes the
freed vaddr available for reuse, then calls devres_destroy()
to remove and free the data structure used to track the DMA
allocation. Between the two calls, it is possible for a
concurrent task to make an allocation with the same vaddr
and add it to the devres list.
If this happens, there will be two entries in the devres list
with the same vaddr and devres_destroy() can free the wrong
entry, triggering the WARN_ON() in dmam_match.
Fix by destroying the devres entry before freeing the DMA
allocation.

With CONFIG_SWIOTLB_DYNAMIC enabled, each round-trip map/unmap pair
in the swiotlb results in 6 calls to swiotlb_find_pool(). In multiple
places, the pool is found and used in one function, and then must
be found again in the next function that is called because only the
tlb_addr is passed as an argument. These are the six call sites:
dma_direct_map_page:
1. swiotlb_map -> swiotlb_tbl_map_single -> swiotlb_bounce
dma_direct_unmap_page:
2. dma_direct_sync_single_for_cpu -> is_swiotlb_buffer
3. dma_direct_sync_single_for_cpu -> swiotlb_sync_single_for_cpu ->
swiotlb_bounce
4. is_swiotlb_buffer
5. swiotlb_tbl_unmap_single -> swiotlb_del_transient
6. swiotlb_tbl_unmap_single -> swiotlb_release_slots
Reduce the number of calls by finding the pool at a higher level, and
passing it as an argument instead of searching again. A key change is
for is_swiotlb_buffer() to return a pool pointer instead of a boolean,
and then pass this pool pointer to subsequent swiotlb functions.
There are 9 occurrences of is_swiotlb_buffer() used to test if a buffer
is a swiotlb buffer before calling a swiotlb function. To reduce code
duplication in getting the pool pointer and passing it as an argument,
introduce inline wrappers for this pattern. The generated code is
essentially unchanged.
Since is_swiotlb_buffer() no longer returns a boolean, rename some
functions to reflect the change:
* swiotlb_find_pool() becomes __swiotlb_find_pool()
* is_swiotlb_buffer() becomes swiotlb_find_pool()
* is_xen_swiotlb_buffer() becomes xen_swiotlb_find_pool()
With these changes, a round-trip map/unmap pair requires only 2 pool
lookups (listed using the new names and wrappers):
dma_direct_unmap_page:
1. dma_direct_sync_single_for_cpu -> swiotlb_find_pool
2. swiotlb_tbl_unmap_single -> swiotlb_find_pool
These changes come from noticing the inefficiencies in a code review,
not from performance measurements. With CONFIG_SWIOTLB_DYNAMIC,
__swiotlb_find_pool() is not trivial, and it uses an RCU read lock,
so avoiding the redundant calls helps performance in a hot path.
When CONFIG_SWIOTLB_DYNAMIC is *not* set, the code size reduction
is minimal and the perf benefits are likely negligible, but no
harm is done.
No functional change is intended.
